1. Describe the time and place in which your novel is set. What clues within the book tell us this?
My Book I think is set in 1745 so far because it has pirates and doesn't have cars yet and it also said so and there also aren't any light bulbbs and they have candles
My Book Cirque Du Freak is set in the present or right around now, because in the book there are mobile phones and they use modern day language. I'm think it is set in America because it have the sort of american language.

Bill(Captain) and Blackdog: Bill and Blackdog are rivals and they both set out to kill each other and bill is not very kind to blackdog and lies to blackdog and in return blackdog lies to Bill.

Bill(Captain) and Jim: Jim finds the captain very strange and awkward because of all his problems like drinking etc and is scared of him because of his scarred face. Bill Finds Jim quite Annoying and always doing the right thing and doesn't hate him but isn't very fond of him at the same time.

Bill(Captain) and Jims Mother: Jims mother doesn't really go near the captain because she is so scared and captain doesn't go near her because there is no reason to.
Darren and Steve: Darren is best friend swith steve who always gets him into trouble and they are really close friends because steve hates his mum and steves dad died

My Favourite character is Jim because Jim is very brave, courageous and he always knows what to say and he also thinks a lot and so he's very witty and smart and he always is honest and is polite and kind to all of his bucaneer friends.
My Favourite character is Darren because he is friend with everyone and he likes soccer and has a loving family (unlike steve) and he usually does the right thing he is also brave and would do anything for his family or friends
5. Describe the style of language and literary devices that the author uses.
a) Find examples of; colourful adjectives, similes, metaphor, dramatic irony, etc..
b) Find a quote (with page number) for each example.
The language they use is quite a lot of british olden day words and Treasure Island doesn't have much slang for example the only slang they use is Pirate slang like: Cap'n etc and otherwise they don't have much slang. Treasure Island doesn't use many metaphors or simile's because the only language I could really recognise is basic language so no simile's metaphor or alliterations.
They stuyle of language cirque du freak uses is metaphors e.g. he was as big as an elephant. and it also uses expression e.g. he was eNORmous and othwise I haven't come across anything else. and it doesn't use too much olden day words.
6. Is your book an example of ‘classic’ or ‘modern’ literature? You must use evidence to back up your stance. For example; has your book stood the ‘test of time’? Are there theme’s that will transcend time?
I think mine is a classic book because it have in the front all the editions and it says first published in the 1800's, and it has been told many times-like a folk-tale. Yes i think my book has stood the test of time since it was first published in the 1800's. i dont think there are many themes that have transended or will transend
my book is a modern literature because although it has many copies there is only one edition and it was published in 2000 so that wasn't too old and it has only transended over 10 yrs which isn't a lot comparing to other real classics.
7. After reading the book, write a short note to a friend describing the book. Include a description of the genre, setting and difficulty level. You need to also include the following information; What were the main themes in the book? What was the central conflict? How was it resolved?

The genre was mainly adventure and the setting like I said before is in 1745 and the difficulty is quite easy but the language they use is olden day so some of the words you never may have heard of bofore . I feel this Novel was a good book and it was very interesting although some parts got a bit boring. And I enjoyed reading it because it made almost every part of the book interesting and so it kept me reading the book although it wasn't my first choice. I really enjoyed the book because it was very interesting when they fought and the way they talk.
